About this Campaign

The video, film, and sound recordings held in the Elmira College Archives are of significant value to our knowledge of the history of Elmira College and its place in the history of Women’s Colleges. The collection covers a wide range of events between 1929-2012 such as commencement, candlelight, athletics, student organizations, and much more. The collection is deteriorating and currently inaccessible, as the library lacks the equipment to view and listen to the collection. The cost of this project, to be completed by Northeast Historic Film, is $17,540. The class of 1997 seeks to support the funding of this project with a class gift in celebration of their 25th reunion.

The collection includes 500 VHS tapes, 164 Magnetic Recording Tapes, 11 AMPX 197 Tapes, 16 Small Panasonic Tapes, and 342 Sound Recordings on Cassette Tape.
